Appearance[]
Zombie Hordes are the the largest group of Zombies in the game.
They can appear with any type of zombies, stacking together making almost like a mountain.
Almost all of them will non-stop jumping, this somewhat increase the speed, difficulty, and their hitbox.
The players will might have to kill a large or a massive horde of zombies before they are running out of time.
Creation[]
Zombie hordes do not appear naturally without any trigger. However, when a person is alone nearby, zombies will aggressively target them which can result in a horde if their spawn rate is greater than the his DPS.
You will almost guaranteed to see a horde in Hard Mode, especially in early waves.
Tips[]
Identify a Horde[]
- In public servers, it is important to regularly check the remaining time and number of enemies. If you notice that there is not much time left and the number of enemies is not decreasing significantly, it is advisable to quickly zoom out and search for the hordes elsewhere.
Create a Horde[]
- In strategies, one player will create a massive horde on higher waves and other players will not shoot until the time is at 0:50, 0:40 or 0:30 until someone tells them to shoot the monsters and the explosive throwers throw lots of explosives at a massive horde.
Fight a Horde[]
- Check your timer always. Remember that there will not be 80-100 zombies existing at once.
- Do not stop moving, look all 4 directions to see any is joining the horde/walls. Being trapped means extremely hard just to jump out just before they drain all of your health.
- If possible, target weak zombies such as Basic, Fast, Tank Zombie to reduce stresses better, plus contribute to the enemy counter.
- If there are Ice Zombies and Santa too close to you, slay them first in order to not let the other monsters kill you.
- Take a huge caution of Explosives such as: Explosive Zombies/Explosive Aliens/Explosive Pumpkin Zombie/Explosive Elves. This will be your biggest threat. If they appear too close, then immediately go in a circle, and hope for some zombies behind can cover them.
- Crystals deal you a lot of damage, and a lot of health. Kill them with your Techno Rifle, Minigun, Launchers, etc.
- Only target them if you think you have enough time.
- When dealing with the need to heal or rapidly decrease the number of zombies, it is advisable to seek higher ground and lure them towards lower walls, preventing the zombies from reaching you. However, exercise caution when encountering Void Slimes and/or Demons, as well as considering the overall height of the approaching horde.
- Watch out for Zombies falling right in your head.
- Use the Stun and Push combo for the horde so your pet's knockback will push them far away at the right time.
- Spam your 3-0 keys to throw lot of explosives to a massive horde. (4-0 keys if you have the Festive Weapon Pack bought)
Preventing a Horde or a Massive Horde:[]
- When in a group, it's important to ensure that all members are able to see each other's surroundings. If you find yourself being targeted, seek out a group member who has fewer zombies or is skilled in dealing with them.
